In 11th grade English Literature class we were told to write a poem or story based on a picture in our books. It was of an older gray haired woman sitting in a chair. She was looking out a window and her countenance was sad. I chose to write a poem. The title was Sitting and wondering. And today 37 years later I can still recall the first 4 lines.
